    Description

WWII Made British Australian 1907 Bayonet SMLE
    With Mangrovite Scabbard
Up for sale is one of the best specimens of this type as we have had in quite a while. This bayonet (made for the Lee Enfield short magazine rifle when acquired was covered with a later of oil on metal. We have pictured before and after images as it si in wonderful condition. The markings indicate that it was made 1943. The wood grips are marked “SLAZ” which indicates Slazenger Sporting Goods of Sydney. The scabbard leather body is marked with “MANGROVITE ‘44.” The top of the scabbard is marked “OA” for Owens. The blade appears unused and unsharpened. The metal appears only to have a few storage marks. The leather is near new with a few marks. Certainly this would be a welcome addition to any British military collection and would accessorize a high quality specimen of rifle. Overall the bayonet measures approximately 22 5/8” Long.
