Item Description
Up for your consideration is a very fine p
air of antique African pottery jugs, c. 1920 (or earlier). They each depict figures, and it has been suggested that they are "marriage jugs.". They retain their original black paint, which has losses/flaking throughout as expected with age.
The jugs measure 14" tall,  9" wide, and 9" deep. They weigh about 8 lbs each.
Overall, the pieces are in excellent condition, free of significant chips or losses to the pottery. There is age-typical wear to the exterior, and possibly a minor loss to one of the figure's nose. They are free of cracks or noticeable restorations other than perhaps some enhancement to the black paint. They present exceptionally well.
