    .  The flower is a symbol of the mountains and that symbol was adopted by German mountain troops, the
    Gebirgstruppen.
    This is a replica officer's Edelweiss insignia for the M-43 wool cap of WWII.  It is sewn to the side of the cap - the device has holes for this purpose.
    This is a two-piece device, well-made and very true to the original.   It is not a cheap stamping and measures 55 mm by 40 mm.
