This is a Czech reproduction of a German WWII canteen strap with original period bakelite screw cap and original repainted hook. This type of screw cap in bakelite was most often seen from the mid-war till the late war period. The great feature it also has is the rawhide reinforcement where the hook is sewn to thus help against friction and stress when the canteen is full and worn in the field of combat (see that last pics).
